Adam Nathaniel Furman: The Roman Singularity

My first exhibition project at Sir John Soane’s Museum is an installation in the recently restored Kitchens of works by the architect and designer, Adam Nathaniel Furman. The project comprises an imaginary Roman city of colourful, 3D-printed ceramic models, drawings and a ‘video-poem’, all of which Furman created while living at the British School at Rome. Also exhibited are two new Soane-inspired works: Pasteeshio, which remixes historical forms in a single structure that combines new technological capabilities with traditional craft; and Capreeshio, which abstracts these forms into a mural world of patterns.
